VLADIVOSTOK, May 6 (Itar-Tass) - The outbreak of enteroviral infection, recorded in China, does not threaten the residents of Russia's Primorsky (maritime) Territory (PT), an official at the press center of the Territorial department of the Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection and Welfare) announced on Tuesday.

The press service official pointed out, "Chinese provinces affected by the infection do not border on Russia's territory and are situated far away from the main tourist itineraries".

The Rospotrebnadzor announcement is connected with disquieting reports from China, where more than 500,000 PT residents travel every year. The outbreak of enteroviral infection was registered in the east of the People’ s Republic of China (PRC).

The infection affected more than 5,000 people, with 22 people dying of the disease, 12 patients being in critical condition and 30 in serious one. The PRC Ministry of Health has warned that the propagation of the virus would continue in the coming months.
