Germany leans towards tax cut

Germany’s commitment to balance its federal budget by 2011 appeared increasingly at risk on Tuesday after the economics minister suggested cutting taxes on the middle class should take priority over fiscal rectitude.

Michael Glos said the government’s budget pledge “should not stand in isolation above all other [goals]”.
