Power cuts weigh on AngloGold

South African gold miner AngloGold Ashanti said the country’s power shortages were having “a significant impact” on its operations and would cut gold output by up to 12 per cent this year.

The world’s third-biggest gold company mines most of its gold in South Africa. Last year its operations in the country were hampered by accidents and rising mining costs.
