Yushenko: issue of the Ukraine’s membership in NATO to be resolved in a referendum

Yushenko has told Ukraine Diaspora in Russia that the issue of the country’s membership in NATO will be resolved in a referendum. He emphasized that Ukraine was ready to legally confirm the thesis of non-deployment of NATO bases in the country in response to Russia’s concerns. On the eve, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it’s up to Ukraine to decide whether to join NATO but urged Kiev to think about consequences. Only 20 percent of residence in Ukraine supports the country’s admission to NATO.
